Medical Mission at Alemere Medical Aid Uganda Community Health Centre

🇺🇬

Amolatar, Uganda

Opportunity provided by

Medaid United Kingdom

Strives to save and improve the lives of disadvantaged families in rural communities in Africa, through healthcare and education.

Overview

In Alemere Medical Aid Uganda Community Health Centre we receive lot of cases that require surgery for which we are requesting Volunteer Medical Missions. The common cases are conditions which require emergency ambulance services to bring patience quickly to the health facility, acute infection which require immediate  surgery and treatment, eye surgery, prescriptions eye lenses,  repair of vesi vaginal fiscula , tooth cannal and extraction, cases which require major surgery, minor surgery like hernia, hydrocele removal ,cyst removal, screening of cancer, early treatment or referral Clif palate repair, orthopaedic  surgery and distribution of wheel chairs.

In Uganda, women suffer a lot due to shortages in the delivery of maternal healthcare services due to limited healthcare facilities which deprive women of the opportunity to safely deliver (#WHO, #UNICEF 2015).  One in 30 babies dies in the first month of life in Uganda. Every day, 15 women die in Uganda from pregnancy and childbirth-related causes and Uganda has one of the highest mortality rates in the world (WHO, UNICEF 2015).  In additions there are shortages of trained medical personnel such as doctors, nurses, midwives, dentist, radiographers, lab technicians, orthopedic surgeon, pharmacist, operating theater staffs etc.  Medical equipment and supplies is scarce and very expensive making it difficult for us to provide quality healthcare services to under served communities in Alemere Medical Aid Uganda Community Health Center, Amolatar District, Northern Uganda

We have managed to  construction of Marjorie Moxon Maternity Unit in Alemere Medical Aid Uganda which will save and transform lives of women, children and families.

We would like to partner with you to provide essential healthcare to under served communities in Alemere, Amolatar District Northern Uganda. We have managed to build a maternity unit at Alemere Medical Aid Uganda Community Health Center III. We would appreciate your support towards Volunteer Medical Mission Team, Donating Medical Equipment, Medical Supplies, and a Team of Medical Project Teams. This will support us to offer quality healthcare services, make the program self sustainable and expand our services to other under served communities.
